San Jose, CA — In a significant step toward reducing aviation emissions, Reid-Hillview Airport has received its first shipment of G100UL® unleaded avgas. The airport, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is the first airport to bring G100UL unleaded avgas to the general aviation pilot-owner community.

General Aviation Modifications Inc. (GAMI) spent over 12 years conducting certification tests with the FAA for the fleet wide FAA approval for the use of G100UL avgas in all spark ignition piston engines and all airplanes in the FAA’s certified database.
The introduction of G100UL at Reid-Hillview has been years in the making. For many in the aviation community, this arrival signals a welcome milestone toward cleaner skies, healthier communities, and reduced engine maintenance costs for the aircraft owners.
GAMI hopes Reid-Hillview’s role as an early adopter will set a precedent for other airports across California and beyond.
Bay area pilots are expected to start using G100UL Avgas this week.
